Best Day Yet

Yesterday was our best day yet.
Manny and I had a little play date yesterday. Daniel asked what those were and what that was all about, and what was Manny going to do. I explained it was mainly for the Mommy's. I had fun hanging out with my friend Beth whose husband is also in the ministry at another church in town. We always have lots to talk about and she has a 2 year old who as well as an infant. She's a great mom and it's easy to ask her questions. Yesterday we figured out that Baby Manny L-O-V-E-S those baby swaddling blankets w/ the velcro. I was swaddling him with a regular blanket, but he could wiggle out. These he can't. It was like magic. He was fussing and we swaddled him up tight and he was fast asleep in less than 2 minutes.

You better believe I dug mine out as soon as we got home. :) And he slept 5 hours straight last night. W-O-W!

Yesterday we also had lots of firsts:
1st rainy day.
1st thunderstorm. (Which is much nicer in Indiana than in Tennessee because we have a much lower threat of a tornado.)
1st rainbow. (And maybe the biggest one I've ever seen. You could see the entire thing and it was huge and brilliant.)
1st time listening to Motown.
1st time waking up only for his bottle then going right back to sleep. (Maybe not the first time, but it was such an easy process last night that it deserves a first.) :)

We had so much fun yesterday. And today we are preparing for the Doss's visit. They are flying in this afternoon. We are soon to be headed to the airport to pick them up. This will be the first time they've seen baby Manny in person and we are all excited about their visit.

Woo hoo! The swaddle blanket was a fave for both my babies. Another little trick to getting them to sleep longer at night is to move them up to the next size diaper before they really reach the weight guidelines. Once they're within about 2 pounds of it, I think the wetness wakes them up. I'm glad you're enjoying that sweet baby boy!

Love the new banner! I just wanted to let you know that as the old saying goes, "The check's in the mail." It was dropped off yesterday, so it should've been postmarked by the deadline. Congrats again!

Manny's first Motown experience! Awesome! Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell "Heaven must have sent you from above." It's Jason and I's "song," but I think it can totally apply to Mr. Manny pants. :) Let him here it.
