Healing Heart in Houston

I just got home from the Scripture Memory Team Celebration. It was a mini-Beth Moore Conference/Celebration for people who had memorized verses in 2009 and kept up with her blog.

IT WAS SO MUCH FUN.

There were 507 women gathered in Houston, TX from 42 states.

I made some new friends and got to visit with Kelly from Clarksville too!

It was a blast.

Just what my weary broken heart needed.

I got to meet Amanda Jones (Beth Moore's daughter) and thanked her for allowing me to come and how special this trip was to me since the adoption fell through and I really wasn't supposed to have been able to come. My friend Kelly signed me up after the deadline and their response was "It sounds like God has her down to come." ~Jenn **We got to meet Jenn and tell her thanks for letting me sneak in at the last minute.

I feel so refreshed. So renewed. I know and understand that this journey of grief and pain is definitely not over, but I know that the Lord used this weekend to REVIVE MY SPIRIT.

All the teaching was on Psalm 119 (which has 176 verses.)

The part that spoke directly to me was when she talked about Psalm 119:28 "My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word."

HE IS STRENGTHENING ME AND WILL CONTINUE TO! PRAISE THE LORD!

Kelly and I won a free nights stay at the hotel in Houston.
Grace Community Church pitched in for my flight to get there.
My friends sent me with spending money.
And God MET ME THERE!

Praise the Lord.

Hey Emily. I am so wonderfully excited abut your experience in Houston. I am so blessed to have a friend who is intrinsically connect to God. When God brought you into my life I was an empty soul craving for something to fix me and God used you! He used you to revive me and to bring me back to life. I pray that God reveals Himself to you through the unexpected. I love you Emily and I know God has amazing things for you.

Kelly, it sounds like from your blog you are working on an adoption. Visit my friend's blog http://mycrazyadoption.org/. She's working on her 2nd adoption from Ethiopia and is writing a book about adoption. She is a friend from high school and she is PASSIONATE about adoption. She's been an emotional support to many, many, many people.

Blessings to you. I am so glad to hear that Houston was healing to you. It was for me, too! (Amazingly not Beth's talk but the sermon from the pastor of Houston's First on Sunday AM). Beth was icing on the cake, though.
