I had a dream...

I had a dream last night that I was holding the most beautiful baby boy. Although he didn't look like me or Daniel, he was gorgeous. I have had dreams about babies or being pregnant before so please don't say this is a sign. I'd love for it to be, but when it happens to not be I am crushed. I do believe this is the dream that is pushing me to action.

Last week I had a conversation with a dear friend about adoption. I was so frustrated with how expensive it is. I actually had an agency that I contacted because they had a birth mother who needed an adoptive family. It was a special case where the birth mom didn't have insurance...not sure of all the details, but the baby was due in just one month. The guy from the agency was looking outside of his list of profiles to get the baby placed. Why?- because for this adoption is was going to cost $27,000- and the money would be needed before the baby was born.

My immediate thought was that if this was meant to be our child that the Lord would work it out. **Honestly I don't feel like this is the baby for us, but it made me realize that if we had that much money set aside we could be parents immediately.**

I was telling my friend that I love to give to good causes and maybe my pride of wanting to do it all on my own was getting in the way of other people giving to us. A part of me hates to ask for money because I don't want others to think we aren't responsible with our funds. We have been saving, but we are only about 1/2 way to the amount needed for a regular adoption, not the special case mentioned earlier.

So why not add a "Donate" button? Now you can donate through Pay-Pal directly to the Baby Doss Adoption Fund. (If you don't have a Pay Pal account it's easy to set up at paypal.com) The dream I had last night made holding that child so real in my mind. We want this so badly. And yet money is the one obstacle in the way. I know that money is not an obstacle to our God. I'm also looking for ideas here...I've seen Adoption T-shirts for sale to raise money and I've heard of Adoption Yard Sales. If you know of any other adoption fundraisers please let me know.

Thanks,
One Mommy in Waiting.

Hey girl -
Do you read Adrienne's blog off my site? They are bringing in the money like mad for their little one....and it is coming fast. It's called "our journey of love" ...email her, I know she would love to chat! I'm supposed to meet up with her tomorrow. Her blog is amazing - a true testimony. SO glad you put up the button. Hey....can you and Daniel come back to Grace one Sunday? Of course, it would require him to sing a song, but the Girls of Grace could certainly do one of their POWERFUL money bake sales!!!! (with permission - of course!)

It was a joy to meet you and Daniel a couple of weeks ago in Martin.
