Exciting news....and it involves a baby.....

Daniel and I have some exciting news....and no we're not pregnant.

We have been married 8 years. Some of you my have heard him share our story when he sings the song Hold On. He's only shared it a few times, but sometimes I still think our infertility is still a secret. We have wanted to have children for about 4 1/2 years now.....that's over 1/2 of our marriage.....we have been to special doctors and kept our hopes up and struggled when our hopes have been dashed. So for now we are taking a different road. We are going to begin the adoption process!!!!

We don't know what that will look like, but we are gathering information and spreading the word. We believe this is God's timing for us to walk down this road. We know it may take a long time, or could happen quickly. We are trusting God and His wisdom. He has definitely proven faithful when we have struggled with the pain of infertility. But He holds us as we struggle with the fact that life doesn't always turn out as we had hoped.

We are thrilled to think about the idea that He has picked out our children and we believe that we will someday be parents. Please pray for us and for birth mothers out there who may be considering adoption. :)
Thanks,
Emily

I'm SO excited for you guys!!! We have been so blessed through adoption; Isaiah is a HUGE blessing! Let me know if you have any questions or if you need to bounce ideas off of someone who has been there. We're thrilled to hear your news!! I was listening to my iPod this morning on my walk and one of Daniel's songs came on and I was wondering how you two were doing with all the infertility stuff. I'm excited to hear your plans!

As a mother to two amazing kids (adopted from Russia and Kyrgyzstan), I can tell you that you guys are in for a crazy and wonderful ride. I am getting ready to start teaching adoption seminars, so please let me know if you have any questions. Adoption is anything but easy, yet in the end you appreciate every single step you had to take (though they don't always make sense). Look into online support groups...you will meet some of the best people and they will really be able to understand you like no one else.

we are also in midst of infertility... we have begun the journey of being foster parents and hope to be able to adopt that way also. i understand your pain and will pray for you in your adoption journey. for us it hurt less to stop medical treatments than to continue and i truly believe this is the path god has chosen for us right now! hold on has been so awesome for me... i love reminding myself that this life is not forever and god truly has something better for us!
