Adoption Seminar

My mom and I went to the Clarksville Adoption Seminar today. Our church hosted it...rather the school that our church meets in hosted it, but folks from our church put it all together. They did a wonderful job showing you all the possible pieces to the puzzle. Now it's up to individual families to put the puzzle that works for their family together. Today we learned about Domestic (within the United States), International, and Foster Care adoptions. It was very informative and tender testimonies (and pictures) were shared throughout the day. I'm very glad that we are in the process instead of on the outside wondering where to begin.

When we left my mom was even more excited and was ready to go buy baby things. I think we are to the point where we are all thinking about a baby entering our home more and more. Unlike being pregnant we won't know the expected due date (unless a birth mother chooses us well in advance of her delivery), but like being pregnant we are all getting excited and thinking of what we need to do to make it a reality. What about nursery colors, what about a crib, what about a rocking chair, what about fun things. This is the exciting part! AHHHHH!!!! :)
