Today

Well today I went to Sango to help with testing. Then I came home and was making a sandwich when the electricity went out. They ended up closing two schools because the electricity didn't come on for such a long time. ugh. Then Daniel called and told me to look and see if we had a package. And sure enough we did. On the front porch was the latest Daniel Doss Band CD (just the rough draft) as I like to call it. It's the closest thing to the final record that we've gotten to hear so far. I was so excited, but then disappointed because we have no electricity. Sooo Suzy and I hopped in the car and off we went, driving around town to simply listen to the new CD. I LOVE IT AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO HEAR IT!!! It sounds absolutely amazing. Hopefully a couple songs will be on the radio this fall (which is SO SOOON!!!) And then the CD will hopefully be out by January.

It's really exciting to wait in anticipation for something and then get a glimpse of it. I feel like we are pregnant (waiting for the release of the CD.) And today I had an ultrasound. (glimpse of what is to come.) ***For those of you who just skimmed that be sure that you saw the words "feel like" and realize that part is a metaphor!!! WE ARE NOT REALLY PREGNANT. :)

Go check out the DDB myspace they have updated it recently and you can hear some of his music. :)

THE RULES:
**for once in my life I'm choosing to delete the rules and make up my own.
- make an acrostic with your middle name- that's essentially what the rules said.

My middle name: Ann

A- Another excuse to blog! I'd rather blog than clean my house which is what I should be doing.
N- Not many people read this blog anyway. Does that make me sad or happy? hmmm.
N- Never thought having a short middle name was nice until I had to do an acrostic.

I tag:
anyone who wants to do this.
anyone who reads this blog. :)

UH OH SUH...TA...TOOT

Well today I went for an interview to be a Substitute. I also went to my old High School to see if they needed subs as well. Boy that was a flashback. :)

I'm simply subbing until we go on the road with the Daniel Doss Band in the Spring. Since the tour got pushed back (thankfully so we have a CD to sell), I have some free time to sub.

But after teaching for 5 years I was reminded of my substituting days before I got my first permanent job. I was in McKenzie, TN and was subbing at the Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. One day I had a 1/2 day placement at the Elementary School for a very nice teacher. She was going over some things with me before she left. All of a sudden a student, named Patrick, came to the door and said very loudly, "Uh Oh Suh..ta..toot." I had grown to love him while student teaching there, but he was taken aback when he came back to class after a short tutoring session to find me there instead of his regular teacher. He took some coaxing to settle down, but finally got into the grove of finishing the day with a sub. :) I don't think I'll ever forget that toothless grin of his.

I can't wait to have some more fun stories to tell.

Panda Page

There is a cool web site that I stumbled upon!!! Thanks to Tony suggesting I check out stumbleupon.com Well now I spend time on it every day and I find lots of interesting things. I really liked this one that shows you Pandas at the zoo in San Diego!!! It's a live camera shot and one of the pandas just gave birth a couple of days ago. I was so intrigued.

***And today Daniel showed me how to link things within my posts. I'm so very excited and I hope it works!!!***

"Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk"

That phrase came to mind the other day at Wal-mart. :)

As I was checking out I grabbed the bag that had milk in it and the bag split.
The milk jug hit the floor and BUSTED....A WHOLE GALLON OF MILK WENT EVERYWHERE....including all over my flip-flopped foot. ugh.
I didn't make a big deal about it because the cashier was pretty panicked himself.
He said it was the 2nd spill he'd had to clean up and on his way to work he'd had a flat tire. He proceeded to tell the cashier next to him that he was going to clean it up with kleenex. She, the cashier next door, suggested he call maintenance and get a mop. She actually called maintenance for him and said over the loudspeaker, "Maintenance to Register 8. Liquid spill at Register 8, LARGE LIQUID SPILL."
I really wanted to giggle the whole time, but tried to hold it together.
It was no one's fault, the whole set of bags had a huge tear in them. The cashier even went to the back and got me another gallon of milk. I think that allowed him to escape from the scene for a little bit and calm down.

I sure hope he had a better day after I left. :)
