It Worked!!!
Yesterday I was cleaning our house and deceided to light some candles. The ones in the bedroom don't get lit very often so when I went back to the bedroom a little while later there was candle wax all over the dresser and on the floor.....yes candle wax hardened in the carpet. YIKES!!! I remembered that on a TV show or in a magazine I saw where you could put a towel over the wax and then iron the towel and it was supposed to come right up. Well let me tell you.....IT WORKED!!!! I was soooo excited. It Worked. It Worked. It Worked. I guess I expected a scam and for the wax to be stuck in my carpet forever. So anytime you get candle wax on the floor remember this tip. :)

Today at School
Kenwood goes Hollywood!
I teach at Kenwood Elementary School and today we had our annual Reading Kick-off. Each student....and teacher was to dress like they were a STAR!!! Our mascot is the Cardinal and a group of the teachers are the Cardinalettes!!!! We made up a dance and all dressed in black with feather boas and accessories. (We danced to Madonna's song Lucky Star!!!)
It was sooo much fun and the kids loved it. We had football players, cowboys and cowgirls, movie stars, divas and rappers. :)
Every year we have celebrations to promote literacy at our school and it is such a great time. I'm so glad I get to be a part of such a wonderful learning environment and get to love and encourage children through out the day. :)

Loving Life
Last night Daniel and I went to Target and bought some games. We got Phase 10 (great group game), Yatzee, and Sorry.
We played Sorry last night and it was super fun. We turned off the TV and just hung out. Eventhough he beat me 4 out of 5 times, that one time that I won was glorious!!! (I am such a sore winner-and loser for that matter!) It was really fun though. I want to encourage you to let go of the remote for one night and just hang out with your friends and family. :)

Today's Surprise!!!
This morning when I left for work Daniel asked me what I was doing tonight because he has rehearsal with the band from church. I said I planned on cleaning up the house, and that it was getting on my nerves. (Last night was open house at school then small group after that and it was looking like a whirl wind.) When I was on my way home from school Daniel called. He had left to go play racket ball....he stayed on the phone until I got home. Usually it's just hi and bye at that time of day so I knew something was up. When I walked in he had left me a note saying that he'd helped me get a head start. Everything was picked up and put in the right place, the dryer was running, clean dishes were put away and dirty dishes were in the dishwasher instead of piled in the sink!!!
I WAS SOOOO EXCITED!!! It's funny because on Sunday Chad was making an illustration about someone receiving a gift that another person bought them versus someone doing something for you where they had to sacrifice doing something else to spend time with you. Since my love language is gifts, I was like ummmm I think I'd go for the gift.....But today I really enjoyed the surprise of having my wonderful husband sacrifice something else that he could have chosen to do and do something nice for me. He is soooo wonderful. :)
